LITTLE FIGHTER | BABY ANDERSON

While all my sessions mean a lot to me, this one holds a special place in my heart.  Baby Anderson was born in March and within 48 hours after his birth a heart murmer was found during a routine check-up.  After some testing his parents were informed that he has a heart defect, hypoplastic left heart syndrome, which means the left side of his heart does not and will never work.  This sweet little guy underwent open heart surgery just one week after he was born and will have several more surgeries in his early years (his second one will most likely happen in the next month or two) until it's time for a heart transplant when he is a little older.

Anderson's mom and I have been best friends for over 20 years.  I'll never forget her phone call telling me about his condition.  I could barely understand a word she was saying but once I realized what she was telling me it as if the world came to a halt at that very moment. All I could do was sit down and cry with her.  It pained me that she lived in Oklahoma and I was all the way in Georgia and I couldn't be with her.  Not that I knew the perfect thing to say or do.  All I wanted was to hug her, sit with her and hold her hand as she lived her nightmare.  I finally did get to visit her, her husband, Anderson and his big sister in May.  The trip was too short but I am so thankful I got to go.  I'm even more thankful that I got to capture portraits of him and his sister.  Please pray for Baby Anderson and his family as their journey has only begun.

This newborn session was extra special because I've known the mommy of this sweet boy since high school. He was determined to stay awake for the entire session and ended up getting his way.  I think he knew something special was going on and didn't want to miss out on any of the fun!  Sweet little bright eyes...

BABY'S 1ST BIRTHDAY PARTY :: BELLA

This birthday party has so many amazing details, I don't even know where to begin!  Bella's mom is one talented lady.  She put together and executed a beautiful party for her daughter and only child.  I loved everything about this party.  The location (Grace | 17•20), the desserts, the attention to detail, sweet Bella in her pettiskirt, the Paris and french poodle theme and of course all the pink.  Gorgeous party for an adorable and much loved little girl.  Très chic!

Sweet baby Joshua. I've known his parents for a couple of years now. I met them back when I shot their engagement pictures and got to catch up with them a few weeks before Joshua was born when we did their maternity session. Take a peek at those photos here. Pink and green. One of my favorite color combinations and in my opinion the perfect colors for a little girl's 1st birthday party.
